We offer different packages, ranging from full support with structural editing, copy editing, page setting and cover design to a much lighter touch offer of a final proof and tidy. Depending on the type of contract agreed, the Caper Press pays for a percentage of the upfront costs and any profit share takes that into account. We support the authors with distribution and marketing. And our contracts take into account that an author may be noticed by a major publisher after being published by Caper.
What is co-publishing?
We describe what we do as ‘co-publishing’ for two reasons. Firstly, because we collaborate with authors and content creators to publish their books. And secondly because we are building a community of writers and readers who work together to promote them. In this way, authors receive maximum royalties and readers are directly involved with the books they love. Readers and writers can also suggest works for publication by writers they know, creating a more direct route into the publishing world.
